FamilySearch Account

Google, Facebook, or Apple

4. Depending on what you said you forgot, the following may occur:
   • Username only: Your username is already entered when the sign-in screen reopens. Now that you have entered your password, you can log in. Alternatively, click Password to reset your password if you have also forgotten it.
   • Password only: A reset password option is displayed.
   • Both: It appears with the option to reset your password. The screen displays your username.
5. Reset your password if needed:
   • Make a fresh password entry
   • Check the updated password.\\Press the Reset button.

Steps for Mobile App Users

1. Launch the smartphone apps Memories or Family Tree.
2. Choose from the following options on the login screen based on whether you’ve lost your password, username, or both:
   • Just the username: Press your username.
   • Just the password: Press the password.
   • Both: Press the username. Next, choose the checkbox next to “I don’t remember my password” on the screen that appears.
3. Based on the data you provide during registration, choose a recovery strategy.
   • Enter the number on your mobile device. That number receives a verification code. Press the Proceed button after entering the verification code in the designated field.
   • Type in your email address here. You receive an email with every username connected to that email account. Get the email open. You can reset your password by clicking on your username, which will cause a pop-out window to appear. Enter the new password and adhere to the prompts displayed on the screen.
