  1. Family Tree Maker 24.2.2.1560 won’t properly communicate with Ancestry. FTM prompts me to log-in to Ancestry, which I do, and it takes me to a blank web page saying “Ancestry user is authenticated.” FTM still doesn’t show me as logged in to Ancestry and continues to ask me to log-in. As a result, I cannot sync my FTM data with Ancestry.

    • Same problem here. I have the latest update from FTM so that isn’t the problem. Frustrating, to say the least.

  3. This can be bypassed by disabling two-stage verification in Ancestry, although I recently had to enable two-stage verification in Ancestry to allow me to continue with DNA matching services…

  5. I am having the same issue today. This is the first time I’ve tried to log in a few months (busy at work!) so was hoping to get some genealogy research done this weekend. I will clear my cache and cookies in case that helps.

  10. October 18th 2024 – same problem trying to log in to Ancestry.
Disabled the two step verification as some users suggested, and straight in.
Not good that we have to disable verification, or that nobody at MacKiev has bothered to offer a solution..

  12. October 27th 2024 – I use Family Tree Maker every day and never log out. Earlier this week the same problem began. There is a real problem here and needs to be addressed. We spend a lot of $$$ and not to be able to sync trees is disappointing to say the least.

I have the latest version. Compressed my tree. Backed up my tree.

  15. Family Tree Maker 24.2.2.1560 will not allow me to upload my family tree to Ancestry. I’m already logged into Ancestry on their site. FTM sends up a box for me to log in to Ancestry. FTM site asks for my username or email and password. I do it. It spins in infinity. I get a page that says I’m “authenticated”. I’m in a circle.

I logged out of FTM, but I can’t log back in to my tree. Double jeopardy. Can’t upload the tree and can’t log in to see the tree.

I use Windows 10, FTM 2019. System says software is current.

  18. I also disabled 2 factor and it works, but not ideal for using Ancestry or security. I contacted the support desk, and it sounds like there is a solution, but they will only take you through it if you purchase support for 3/5/8 years. starting at $345 for the 3 years.

  20. I already have 2FA disabled. I can log in to the Ancestry.com site directly, but not through FTM 2019.
