2. Start the Matching Process
You may initiate matching in two ways:
- Click the FamilySearch hint icon or hint link in the tree viewer or edit panel.
- Right-click the individual and choose Match Person to FamilySearch.
3. Search Results Review
- The Web Search workspace will show FamilySearch results about the individual chosen.
- Inspect the information and confirm whether the suggested record is the correct one for your ancestor.
- Click Match if you can identify the proper record.
4. Confirm the Match
- A message box will pop up explaining the People with FamilySearch feature.
- If you do not wish to view this message again, select Do not show again.
- Click Match to FamilySearch.
5. Access the Matched Person’s Information
- Once the match is confirmed, the Web Search workspace is updated to reflect the FamilySearch profile.
- The profile gives access to hints, historical records, and more information.
- Remember that FamilySearch historical records are not imported directly. You have to manually add and review data from FamilySearch.
6. Check Matched Person’s Information
- Go to the Tree tab of the People workspace to see the matched person.
- When there are hints present, a dark blue hint icon will be visible.
